We are two weeks into the news year and let’s admit it, this is the time where those new year resolutions are looking real “next year ish”. Well I am here to look you in the eye and say “don’t you even think about slacking off”…

Let’s chat.

The word for the year is Audacity -this is the year of audacity-. I know this word has a negative connotation because of it’s second definition of rude or disrespectful, but that’s definition number two for a reason. Your goals, your wildest dreams, your most daring adventures can only exist if you have the audacity to go after them.

I dare you to have the audacity to go after everything you desire with verve. I dare you to let go of anything that doesn’t serve you, remove anyone who means you harm, and walk away from things that steal your joy. I want you to have the nerve to say no without explanation, to enforce your boundaries, and put you first.

Last year we focused on skills to make it the best year of your life. So, this year it’s only right you have the audacity to chase it, obtain in, then maintain it.

Let me be transparent, last year I overextended myself, I was quiet when I should have spoken up, I defended others before defending myself, I let people treat me poorly without consequence. Reflection on those things with my partner and colleagues is where I came up with the word for the year. I’ve fought a lot in life so felt like some battles just weren’t worth it, when in reality the fight never stops, it just looks different. You are always worth fighting for, you are always worth defending, no matter who tries to tell you otherwise. Your version of events matter, your reality matters. After all, only you exist in your universe, everyone else is just extras who come and go as you see fit.

Lose the friends, lose the partnerships, lose the relationship. Have the audacity to walk in your truth so boldly. Start the business, go after that promotion, have that difficult conversation.

Your life depends on your audacity to pray God size prayers and your ability to remove any hate in your heart. It’s never too late.
